KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI  - SEASONS 1-13 - 2000-2021

The Indian adaptation of “Who Wants to be A Millionaire” premiered in India in 2000 as Kaun Banega Crorepati and changed Indian television forever. The iconic show broke ground, not just by having a mega star like Amitabh Bachchan as its host, but cementing its popularity by topping TRP charts. Mass scale participation and the size of the prize money have ensured the longevity of the show which is not just game of knowledge and prize money but also of emotions and lives changing in front of our eyes.

NEWS WIZ- 2016- 2019 (4 SEASONS)

​News Wiz is an original DigiTok format which telecast on India Today Television for 4 seasons. A first of its kind News based Quiz for senior school, it had the top 27 quizzing teams from across the country vying for the News Wiz champion trophy. It was anchored by News journalist and author Rajdeep Sardesai .

This game show for AND TV, had common people (the Askers) shot on video in advance, asking the questions from contestants. A high-octane pace, sparkling contestants and Askers, cutting edge technology and a Super Smart, Superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the charming host – this show had it all!  

SPELL BEE INDIA - 2014-15

Spell Bee India, a spelling competition was telecast on Discovery channel and had contestants from class 5 to 9, showcased the brightest English language spellers across the country. The series, hosted by actress and TV host Soha Ali Khan, was an indigenous format testing contestants spelling & vocabulary skills.

THE TECH GRANDMASTERS - 2012- 2013

A highly interactive and unique indigenous, technology related Quiz format, Tech Grandmasters consisted of content based on the latest gadgets and gizmos, tech innovations and the personalities that drove them. Contestants, chosen from all over India, aimed to establish who among them was the most tech savvy. Hosted by India’s best known, “Tech Guru”, Rajiv Makhani, the series was telecast on NDTV.

JAWAB KINTE CHAI - SELL ME THE ANSWER IN BANGLA - 2012

Jawab Kintey Chai was the Bengali language version of the international format, Sell Me the Answer. Hosted by the delightfully witty and popular TV personality, Mir Afser Ali on Sananda TV, it was a  quiz show with a twist. Contestants could buy their answers from “Traders”, if they were stuck, after negotiating the price for the same.

SPORTS KA SUPERSTAR - 2010

An in-house format, Sports ka Superstar served as a precursor to the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October 2010.Hosted by the vivacious Mini Mathur, 200 quizzers qualified through an all-India selection test and took the roles of Khiladi’s (players), displaying their knowledge of sports and challenging their fellow competitors to a fight to the finish.

BIG MONEY - 2010

Hosted by the popular Actor Madhavan, Big Money, was the Indian version of the international show Family Links. Contestants, belonging to a family, pooled in their knowledge to play together to win prizes at every level. Each family member represented a link in a chain of questions. As long as the questions were answered correctly, the chain remained unbroken. Contestants stood to win up to Rs.1 crore prize money.

KHELO JEETO JIYO - 2009

​A unique, branded lifestyle gameshow created in house, Khelo Jeeto Jiyo was launched with Godrej on STAR TV. Hosted by Soha Ali Khan, Khelo Jeeto Jiyo was a unique game show in which contestants could win a home and everything in it.

KYA AAP PAANHVI PASS SE TEZ HAIN - 2008

The licensed version of the international show, “Are you Smarter Than a Fifth Grader”, was a studio-based game show hosted by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. Contestants competed for big prize money by attempting to answer questions taken from primary school class materials.

India's first Bollywood quiz was devised to find the numero uno of Bollywood gyaan. The 26 part series, anchored by the inimitable and entertaining Bollywood actor Boman Irani, had 7 levels of quizzing before the crown fell on the Bollywood ka Boss!

HEARTBEAT - 2005

​A pulsating Game Show, ‘Heart Beat - Dil Thhaam Ke Khelo’ was telecast on STAR One. An international format, the show has no host, other than a Voice. The protagonists of the show were  celebrity participants in a sealed booth whose game play time was based on the speed of their heartbeat – the calmer their heart, the easier it was to win the game.

An original in-house format, done in Bengali and telecast on Tara Bangla (Star TV). The show was based on a One Day International Cricket format with 2 teams and included regional celebrities. A high energy show that was a first of its kind on television. 

INDIA'S CHILD GENIUS - THE SEARCH FOR INDIA'S SMARTEST KID - 2004

A show that brought together the sharpest and the smartest young minds between the ages of 10-13 from the entire country, to eventually find India's Child Genius. A special session of the show was filmed at the Rashtrapati Bhawan with the then President Dr Abdul Kalam. The show was hosted by Siddhartha Basu and telecast on Star World.

UNIVERSITY CHALLENGE - 2003 - 2004

​The internationally acclaimed show, University Challenge (India) was telecast on BBC World and had a successful run for 2 series. Hosted by Siddhartha Basu, University Challenge was a prime time, elimination quiz shows for university college teams across India who vied for top honours in a head-to-head challenge with opponent college teams. A special episode also saw the winning teams from India pitted against the winners of University Challenge Britain, in an exciting face-off.

KAMZOR KADII KAUN - 2003

Kamzor Kadii Kaun, the Indian version of the international show, The Weakest Link, was a tactical and strategic quiz show, where contestants were brought together as a team to vote out the weakest link. Telecast on Star TV, the series was a stimulating and dramatic show with a cutting-edge competitive element. The show was anchored by actress, Neena Gupta.

​A unique Game Show aired on Star One, with a heady mix of fun, strategy and tactics, where drama, suspense and comedy took centre-stage. The most bizarre answers, could win you the most bucks. The catch is that one of the 6 contestants is secretly fed all the answers - he is the Bluff master.

MASTERMIND INDIA  - 5 SERIES - 1998-2002

One black chair, a single spotlight, sustained interrogation and one winner. A show which came to enjoy the reputation of being one of the most formidable and challenging quiz contests in the world. Anchored by Siddhartha Basu, it originally aired on BBC World. One of the hallmarks of the Indian show was the staging of the contest at heritage sites across the country.

​A home-grown format, this unique game show, telecast on Star TV, topped game show TRP ratings. Participants were selected from top organizations, institutions and companies, with vocal support from each organisation from a robust audience. The computer-generated games were slick, unique, pacey and challenging. Each game had prizes embedded behind some correct answers and a big prize for the final jackpot winner.

EUREKA - 1999

​Telecast on Star Plus, Eureka was an entertaining, interactive science show for children, that made science and its wonders accessible to the viewers. Celebrity guests included people from the fields of science, technology, arts and music. It was presented by Dr Partha Ghose.

​A high profile, indigenously formatted debate show telecast on Star World, moderated by the popular journalist and author Vir Sanghvi, Question of Answers was a debate show that provided a thought provoking, no-holds barred forum for sharp and scintillating debate on top of the mind issues affecting the nation.

JAANE KYA TOONE KAHI - 1997

​A comic game show based on an international format, A Word in Your Ear, involved verbal communication and miscommunication, with personalities from various fields as participants.

Based on the UK format, Second Guess, the game show would show up how well the participants (members of a family or friends) knew each other. It was produced for Home TV in association with Action Time UK.

BEANSTALK QUIZ SUMMIT- 1997

A 29-part all-India inter-college quiz series for youth, using unique online computer driven board games on DD2. Teams had to work their way to the summit by linking blocks with letter clues.

AKSHAR MELA - 1995

A unique 13 part series specially devised for neo-literates , with a festive and rustic feel, was produced for the National Literacy Commission and telecast on Doordarshan 1.  The contestants were neo-literate men and women from villages and small towns who played word, number and letter games. Many celebrities from the film and television world were champions on the show.

KISSA KURSI KA - 1995

​Created as a curtain raiser for the General Elections, Kissa Kursi Ka was an indigenous format, and had actual Members of Parliament as its contestants. For the first time ever Members Of Parliament took part in a 14 part quiz series, as a curtain raiser to the general elections. It was hosted by Anu Kapoor.  It received the award for Best Game Show Host, and was nominated for the Best Game Show and Best Graphics.

A 7-part multi-nation quiz, involving participants from all the SAARC member countries, which was simultaneously telecast in all 7 SAARC countries.

ALPHA PLUS - 1993

A 21-part national inter-school all-round ability contest, including physical ability, mental agility, memory, problem solving and general knowledge tests. Hosted by Bhaskar Bhattacharya and telecast on Doordarshan's national network.

A major 23-part series on 20th century India, telecast at prime time on Doordarshan 1, the national network, which notched up the highest viewership for an English language programme. A national inter-college quiz, where, after an all-India preliminary test, the top college teams from around the country were quizzed on the freedom struggle and 50 years of Independence.

IQ - THE NEW AGE

A 21 Part Quiz on Independent India for young bright and dynamic people from various backgrounds and disciplines from every state in the country. The format used unique online computer driven games and was hosted by Siddhartha Basu and co-hosted by Komal G.B. Singh and telecast on DD1.

This 3 series all India inter-college Quiz show was a landmark on Indian television when it first started in 1985. It had the highest viewership for an ongoing English language programme in the country and was telecast on Doordarshan. Other than breaking ground with its look and feel and a dynamic new host, Siddhartha Basu, it was the talking point in the media and every household in the country. It won the Uptron Award for Best Game Show.
